About this Pattern
● Crochet Terminology: US Terms
● Pattern Language: English
The pattern comes as one PDF file with detailed instructions on everything you need to know to crochet three color types of nudibranchs based on real-life color variations (dotted resembling the Goniobranchus splendidus, pink resembling the Hypselodoris apolegema & striped resembling the Chromodoris annae). It can be followed step-by-step and is accompanied by photos for all the trickier parts.
Next to the written pattern, the PDF includes a list of all needed materials & tools, a table of all stitch types/abbreviations required for this pattern, and also a tutorial section with detailed explanations for some of the more unusual used stitches and techniques.
About the finished Nudibranch
With the hook size (3mm) and yarn type (worsted weight) I’m using, the final nudibranch is around 14cm long and 5cm wide (always measured at the biggest part).

Pattern Inspiration
Nudibranchs are tiny, sea-dwelling slugs that look like living rainbows! These soft-bodied marine mollusks come in dazzling colors and patterns - the color variations in this pattern are inspired by their real-life counterparts. Instead of a protective shell, they evolved other unique defenses, like repurposing stinging cells from their prey.
